Gulf Coast [310 Bay Ridge Ave] will assume most of the space of the renovated of Circles Café. Fans of Circles can rest easy knowing that the menu will live on as a take-out counter on the Bay Ridge Ave entrance.
One of the owners, Pierre, tells us they're set to open Gulf Coast on Thurs, August 27th (but could open as early as the 20th) with an emphasis on 'Island Cuisine' which covers pretty much the entire range of the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean, as witnessed during a final preview BBQ for friends and family during the fourth Summer Stroll of the season.

How long before Gulf Oil files a cease and desist?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to trying it out! Passed by it on the bus today, caught my eye but I too thought of Gulf Oil when I first saw it, LOL
ReplyDeleteJudging by the uninviting outdoor appearance, this doesn't look like any place I'd frequent.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the Gulf Coast Restaurant that was on West Street and closed so long ago: crawfish, poor boys', gumbo, jambalaya, and the best margaritas. Wish I could find a menu!! Congrats Pierre!
ReplyDeleteBeth Conroy, I went on my first date with my wife-to-be 26 years ago at the Gulf Coast. Wish it was still open - loved the food, and love the memory!!
