With 101 Restaurant Out Renovation Brings Positano In
Positano [10018 4th Ave], an upcoming trendy Italian restaurant will open at 4th Ave & 101st St and basically be within an earshot of the Verrazano Bridge with the requisite al fresco dining and views that come with it.
Positano (the name of which is an obvious nod to the village in Campania, Italy), replaces the outgoing upscale 101 Restaurant, which occupied the space since 1991, profiled in NY Magazine, Examiner, and billed as a neighborhood gem in Bay Ridge. It was best known as a suitable place for date night, group dinners, and birthdays. Fast forward to June/July 2015, it abruptly closed with what we believe might be the same owners renovating it into its current incarnation. The opening date will likely be in September as they are currently hiring front of house staff.
