Bombay Grill Opens on 3rd Ave

Bombay Grill [8716 3rd Ave] opened its doors last month 11/3 (Mon) to Restaurant Row and to the lunch crowd along 3rd Ave.  As we previously mentioned in late October, their opening was stymied by NYCDOB red tape but they're finally up and running.  We sat down with them earlier last week to talk about their opening.

Bombay Grill is an authentic Indian, fine dining destination.  A mix of cuisines from all regions of India, including Bangladesh.  They're also no strangers to Indian cuisine either.  Their sister restaurants, Delhi Heights and Bombay Heights also hail from Brooklyn (Williamsburg Bed-Stuy specifically).  In fact, to assure a successful opening, their Chef de cuisine and tandoori chef from the other restaurants are manning the helm here.  Everything is made to order, as you should come to expect from fine dining experiences.

So far it's translated to busy weekends as the dining room on both levels are packed most nights.  More importantly, they're also halal and offer free wifi to guests.  To accommodate private parties, they also have a basement party hall to support up to 30 people with a full sound system, TVs and bar.
If you recall, Bombay Grill replaced beleaguered French-Asian Fusion restaurant, Nouvelle.  As the only Indian restaurant south of Bay Ridge Pkwy (aka 75th St.), it's safe to say they'll do just fine.

  1. Delhi Heights and Bombay Heights are both in Bed Stuy, not Williamsburg.
