Tajadas Opens on Bay Ridge Ave

Tajadas Bakery & Restaurant
Tajadas Bakery & Restaurant [241 Bay Ridge Ave], which is a sister restaurant to the Woodhaven outpost with the same name serving similar Colombian fare opened along Bay Ridge Ave directly across from Key Food in the past few weeks, replacing Arepas y Crepes which didn't see much traction in the few months that it was open.  Breakfast and lunch are expected along with a complement of typical baked goods often found in panaderĂas.

  1. well, its a very small place and not easy to find, unless, you are walking. I like their pastries and coffee but I couldn't for the life of me find them on line. They still come up as arepas and crepes and I didn't know if the menu was the same. they need to update their website.

  2. Needs improvement. Most Colombian restaurants I visited go out of the way to serve you fresh food and take care and pride how they serve you. I continued to give this restaurant my business thinking the bad experiences were an exception not the standard but I was wrong. The quality of the restaurant food and service has declined over time. Unfortunately poor food quality is not the only issue, but quality of service and potential unwanted health issues are observed frequently.
I have witness more than once that they re-used the disposable containers from the trash or tables that they give to customers. I had observed the washing in the sink used containers collected from plates of customers to reuse again. The condiments you request that are normally given freely in other restaurants are now at an additional cost and usually they only fill ¼ of container.
That way the food is serve appears as if they do not serve but instead throw the food on your plate or container. I purchased several take out orders; the rice was burnt like they scrape the bottom of the pot to fill my order and the food was mixed. The cold sides were mixed with the hot food. Thriftiness has become their MO. In the past they offered containers that had separate pockets so that your food wont mixed or help prevent spoil. The appearance of the food serving made me lose my appetite and I threw my food away because I was worried maybe it was food that others customers did not eat and they were recycling food selling it to other customers.

The Yelp App has them listed with their old name.
