DNAinfo first broke the news on the closing of Donut Stop [9406 Third Ave] on Sunday (11/29). The owners took to
Facebook to thank their customers for their years of patronage.
John's Doughnut Stop, a family-owned luncheonette as lamented by current and former customers know it as the one-of-a-kind fixture of Bay Ridge for over 20 years. It was a reliable, affordable lunch diner you can count on that would always be there for a good, quick, hearty meal.

What's not to love? With tile floors, wooden shelves, counter-seating, wallpaper, menu befitting of the '80s, little has changed since then. For starters, there are choices abound- Bake Ridge Bagels (renovated), Artisan Food Valley, Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, Rocco's, and countless coffee shops & delis. What's not to love? Perhaps this is a question best left in the past.
