Feature: Xin Restaurant and Bar

XIN Restaurant & Bar
XIN Restaurant & Bar
Xin Restaurant [8320 3rd Ave] first opened to lunch-seekers on April 1st as we mentioned earlier, offering both a new lunch and dinner option to Restaurant Row.

With the closure of Lai Yuen (back in August), the owner, David sought and identified an opportunity to open something truly unique that also keeps the staff & chef of Lai Yuen employed and largely intact.  In doing so, they brought the Chinese white tablecloth (fine-dining) format to 3rd Ave, widely regarded as the destination for the best restaurants Bay Ridge has to offer, but with a few tweaks.  In the months prior to the restaurant's renovation from the previous restaurant Fillie's, they took to Lai Yuen's lengthy menu and pared it down to simply what works.

Its final menu upon opening includes Lai Yuen's most popular Asian dishes.  Favorites among them include the Mongolia Beef Cubes, Gold Coin Filet Mignon, Dragon & Phoenix, Grand Marnier Shrimp, Shrimp & Scallop, and one dish in particular that will most likely seem to turn heads, the Xin Lobster in Sizzling Wok.

  1. Can't find a menu for this place. Looked on website, Facebook and Yelp. Only thing I found was a tiny menu on Yelp that doesn't enlarge. How do you open a new restaurant and not have a menu? I might check it out again when I see a menu someplace, but for now, not going there. One would think the most important thing for a new restaurant would be to get their menu online.
